I am pretty new to Serverdoc, even so I looked through the user guide and installation file setup and this has caused me to become even more confused. So I searched the forums to no avail. Now I am seeking help with my question and this situation.

We will begin with the Serverdoc setup.

Serverdoc Pro
- C:\My Games\

Now I want to be able to run three servers of the same game using only one config or schedule or both. For this example we will use Call of Duty 2 (cod2) as the game in question. Lets say I have installed cod2 in a sub directory of Serverdoc.

Call of Duty 2 Server Files (Location of Game Files)
- C:\My Games\cod2\server\

Now if this is possible the Serverdoc files for the server would be located in the "cod2" sub directory. Now I will present the rough idea of the schedule file.

Schedule.txt
------------------------
' Start COD2 Server1 to Run All the Time
* * * * * * C:\My Games\cod2\server\CoD2MP_s.exe +set blah blah blah

' Run COD2 Server2 AND Server3 to Run Every Wednesday at Noon
00 12 4 * * C:\My Games\cod2\server\CoD2MP_s.exe +set blah blah blah +set different settings
00 12 4 * * C:\My Games\cod2\server\CoD2MP_s.exe +set blah blah blah +set even different settings

' STOP Both COD2 Server2 AND Server3 at Midnight
00 00 5 * * STOP
00 00 5 * * STOP

' Run COD2 Server2 AND Server3 to Run Every Saturday at 10 AM
00 10 7 * * C:\My Games\cod2\server\CoD2MP_s.exe +set blah blah blah +set different settings
00 10 7 * * C:\My Games\cod2\server\CoD2MP_s.exe +set blah blah blah +set even different settings

' STOP Both COD2 Server2 AND Server3 at 10PM
00 22 7 * * STOP
00 22 7 * * STOP

------------------------

From what I have seen of the examples, it seems like you can only have one server running not three. They are always rotated. And I am not sure how many commands it will remember so I don't know if I can stop and then stop again without it breaking because I believe it doesn't remember the previous command. Finally with this setup will Server1 stay online all the time? Not be interrupted?

Also I have seen this ' used as a comment, is that a comment? If not what is? And if you don't have one you really need to have comments.

Is my example right? Can it work, if not what do I need to fix? Or do I need to have different settings? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Another question, if you are only using schedule.txt and not the config file will you still be able to start and stop the servers? And with one setup is there a way to start one, but not all?

Sorry for all the questions, but I hope someone can help.

Hi blyk,

Almost there but not quite. IF you want to use the one game installation something like this:
Serverdoc Pro
- C:\My Games\

Serverdoc Server1 cfg (contains schedule.txt)
- C:\My Games\Server2

Serverdoc Server2 cfg (contains schedule.txt)
- C:\My Games\Server1

Serverdoc Server3 cfg (contains schedule.txt)
- C:\My Games\Server3

Call of Duty 2 Server Files (Location of Game Files)
- C:\My Games\cod2\server\

Quote:
' Start COD2 Server1 to Run All the Time
* * * * * * C:\My Games\cod2\server\CoD2MP_s.exe +set blah blah blah

This would actually start COD2MP_s evert minute, as you don't want that just use
99 99 99 99 99 C:\My Games\cod2\server\CoD2MP_s.exe
( http://www.serverdoc.com/modules.php?name=UserGuide )
Optionally to can also use
99 99 99 99 99 ..\cod2\server\CoD2MP_s.exe

ok thats schedule.txt for server1 done, save this in the server1 folder.

Server2 and 3 each need a schedule.txt saved in server2/3 folders.
' Run COD2 Server to Run Every Wednesday at Noon
00 12 4 * * ..\cod2\server\CoD2MP_s.exe +set blah blah blah +set different settings

' STOP Server
00 00 5 * * STOP

' Run COD2 Server Every Saturday at 10 AM
00 10 7 * * ..\cod2\server\CoD2MP_s.exe +set blah blah blah +set different settings

' STOP Both Server
00 22 7 * * STOP

Save that in server1 and server2 (with different command +set options)

Now you can start all three serverdocs with:
sdcontrol.exe /START
or one by one with
serverdoc.exe but have the "start in" folder of the shortcut set to serer1 (2 or 3) folder.

Yes the ' is comment & no you dont need it.

Thanks for the help. I have one final question for you.

Do I need a wwwconfig.cfg if I use schedule.txt? If not then how do I get it to run? Do I just click start then leave the dialog that says Stop up?

Thanks again.

Not if you do not want a remote panel.

Serverdoc should look to the schedule to see what should be running and execute that.
