I have been trying to download the serverdoc executable. McAfee keeps deleting it, saying it has found and removed the Artemis trojan. Since I've successfully used serverdoc until now, I am wondering what is going on.

I just downloaded it ok and nothing found. Possible it is a fake positive or a process already on the pc is attaching to the exe once its downloaded.

I was going to say try use an online service to scan the .exe but if its deleting it makes it a bit hard. See if you can turn auto delete off and don't run it until you can confirm with yourself via a different online scan service?

I just used http://www.kaspersky.com/scanforvirus to scan the download and:
"You're clean!

Kaspersky Anti-Virus has not detected any viruses at this time in the file you submitted."

Also found a multi virus scanner that confirms McAfee is (wrongly) detecting something.

BTW I remember this happening on my dads PC - the scanner deleted VNC Server on a false positive Sad Sad

I concluded that this was a false positive, but wanted to at least mention it so people are aware of the issue. Just one more reason among many to dislike McAfeee, I guess.
